Containers for sale

New one-trip and used containers in every size we stock. Prices are for the container; the fixed delivery rate for your region is added at checkout.

New or used: what each grade means

A grade describes wear and watertightness. Every container is inspected at the depot before it is loaded.

New one-trip

Built overseas and shipped once with cargo before sale. It is as close to new as most buyers can get.

Suits: Offices, workshops and conversions, and any site where appearance matters.

How we grade new one-trip containers

Doors of a used blue shipping container showing scuffs, dents and original markings

Cargo-worthy

A used container that is structurally sound and fit to carry cargo by sea, rail or road.

Suits: Storage that may need to be shipped again, and buyers who want a solid used box at a lower price.

Wind and watertight

A used container that keeps wind and water out and locks securely, but is no longer certified for shipping.

Suits: Ground storage on farms, job sites and back lots where looks matter less than price.

How we grade wind and watertight containers

Firewood storage operation. Needed dry, ventilated bulk storage. Paint fading was consistent with the used grade description. Satisfied with the whole experience.

Candace J.

Floor was solid, no soft spots anywhere. Only note: delivery came on day 14, not the shorter end of the window. Plan for the full range if your timeline is tight. Would refer NYC Containers to anyone needing a container.

Bought: Used 20ft Standard Shipping Container

Doug S.

Double-stacked pallets were the requirement. HC was the answer. Driver called about 30 minutes before arrival. Condition was actually better than I expected for used grade. Tools and materials have stayed dry and secure. No rust. No wear. Exactly what we needed.

Bought: New 20ft High Cube Shipping Container

Aaron C.

Small business, inventory overflow, needed extra space. Delivery was on schedule, no delays. Clean interior — no residual odor, no debris. Six months in and zero issues to report. Does the job. That’s all I needed.

Used NYC Containers before for a different property. Same experience here. Quote came back faster than expected. Faster than expected — arrived inside the first week. Interior has stayed completely dry regardless of weather.

Ernest E.

Surface rust was exactly what you’d expect for used grade. Nothing surprising. One door hinge was stiff on arrival — needed a shot of lubricant before it moved cleanly. Small thing, but worth checking. Starting from one-trip condition made the whole project easier.

Bought: New 20ft Double Door Shipping Container

Randy F.

Job site tool storage was the goal. Whole experience was low-friction from inquiry to delivery. Delivery scheduling was easy — one call, one confirmation. Tools and materials have stayed dry and secure.

Permanent installation on a commercial property. New was the call. Condition was actually better than I expected for used grade. Factory-clean condition. No disappointment.

Bought: New 20ft Standard Shipping Container

Roger F.

Monthly rental was adding up fast. One purchase makes more sense. Quote matched the final invoice — no surprise charges. Driver navigated a tight access lane without issue. Seals have held up through several heavy rain events.

Questions buyers ask first

How do I get a price for a container delivered to my site?

Each container shows its price on the site. Delivery is a fixed rate per container for your region, shown in the cart before you pay, or send your ZIP through the quote form for a written delivered quote. A specialist then confirms stock at the nearest depot and a delivery date before you pay. No account is needed to see prices, and a quote does not commit you to buy.

Which size do I need, 10ft, 20ft or 40ft?

Start with what you store and the space you have. A 10ft box suits small loads and tight yards. A 20ft holds about 1,172 cu ft and fits most sites. A 40ft doubles that and is usually cheaper per cubic foot, but it needs a long approach for the truck. If you will stack, shelve or insulate, look at a high cube.

How is a container delivered?

Most deliveries use a tilt-bed truck. The driver backs up to your spot, tilts the bed and slides the container onto the ground as the truck pulls forward. No crane is needed. You or someone you trust should be on site to show the driver the exact position and to check the container before signing for it.

How much space does the delivery truck need?

As a rough guide, allow a straight, firm approach of about 3 times the container length, plus clear width of about 12 ft and overhead clearance of about 14 to 16 ft. A 40ft box needs far more room than a 20ft. Your specialist reviews photos or a sketch of your site before booking.

What does new one-trip mean?

A new one-trip container was built overseas and made a single voyage with cargo before being sold. It looks close to new, with minor marks from handling. It is the usual choice when appearance matters or when the box will be converted into an office or workshop, because the walls, floor and seals start in clean condition.

How can I pay?

Pay by credit card at checkout: Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover. Business buyers can ask about invoicing and purchase orders. Your specialist explains the options that apply to your order.
